Terms of Service
Last updated September 14, 2026
These are the terms for using Otto. They are short because Otto is simple: it reads your fantasy league, posts about it in your chat, and answers questions. By creating an account, connecting a league, or adding Otto to a server, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy says what Otto does with data and is part of these terms.
What Otto is
Otto is a service operated by a sole proprietor in Wisconsin, United States ("we"). It connects to a fantasy football league on a supported platform (ESPN today) and, optionally, to a chat platform (Discord today), where it posts scheduled reports and lineup alerts and answers questions about the league. Otto is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ESPN, Sleeper, Discord, GroupMe, or the NFL.
Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least thirteen years old, and old enough to use Discord where you live.
- You sign in with an email link, a Discord account, or a Google account. Keep those accounts secure; anything done from your Otto account is treated as done by you.
- One person, one account. Do not share it.
- Give us a working email address so we can reach you about your account and your league.
Connecting a league
The person who connects a league to Otto (usually the commissioner) is responsible for it. By connecting a league you confirm that:
- You are a member of that league and are allowed to share its data with the rest of the league, which is what Otto does when it posts.
- Any ESPN cookies you supply come from your own ESPN account, and using them to read the league is within ESPN's rules for you. Otto uses them only to read that league.
- You are allowed to add Otto to the server you connect it to, and you choose which channels it posts in and reads from.
- You will tell your league that Otto is there, reads the channels you picked, and answers questions using the league's data and recent messages. The Privacy Policy is written so you can send them the link.
Each league may be connected to Otto once. Members you invite to help manage a league can change its settings; you remain responsible for it.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- Use Otto to harass, threaten, or abuse anyone, or to post content that breaks Discord's rules.
- Try to make Otto reveal another league's data, its instructions, or its credentials.
- Send automated traffic, scrape the service, or work around the limits of your plan.
- Probe or disrupt the service, or try to get access you were not given.
- Resell Otto or offer it as your own service.
Otto applies limits, such as a daily number of questions and a short pause between them, and may ignore or refuse a request that breaks these rules.
About the answers
Otto's answers and written reports are produced by AI models from your league's data. They are meant to be accurate and Otto checks its facts against the league's records, but AI can still be wrong, out of date, or miss something. Treat answers as a knowledgeable friend's take, not as a record. Decisions you make from them, including lineup, trade, and waiver decisions, are yours. Otto is not a betting service and gives no gambling advice.
Otto's tone can be sharp by design, and a league can choose a spicier persona. If a report or answer crosses a line for your league, the commissioner can change the persona or turn the post off, and we want to hear about it.
Plans and payment
- Free includes the roster check, the weekly recap, and a daily number of questions, for one league.
- Premium is priced per league per year. The price is shown before you pay, and the year it covers is stated at purchase. You choose at checkout whether it renews on its own; a renewing subscription can be cancelled at any time from the billing page, and the year already paid for runs to its end. What Premium includes is listed on the pricing page and may grow during the year; anything removed from it would be announced first.
- If Premium is not what you expected, email us within fourteen days of paying and we will refund it. After that, refunds are at our discretion, and always if we discontinue Otto during a year you paid for.
- Prices may change for future years. A year you have already paid for is not affected.
- Payments are handled by a payment provider; we never see your full card number.
Nothing in this section creates an obligation to keep any feature free.
Availability and changes
Otto is a small service and is offered as it is. We aim for it to be up and posting on time, but we do not guarantee that it will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, and a scheduled post can be late or missed, for example when ESPN or Discord is down. We may change Otto, add or remove features, or stop offering it. If we discontinue it, we will give account holders at least thirty days' notice by email where we reasonably can.
Third-party services
Otto depends on services we do not control: the fantasy platform your league is on, the chat platform Otto posts in, and the AI model providers that write its answers. Their terms apply to your use of them, and a change on their side (such as ESPN changing how leagues are read) can change or interrupt what Otto can do. We are not responsible for those services.
Ending the service
- You can remove a league from its settings page at any time, remove Otto from your server, or email us to delete your account.
- We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your use puts the service or other leagues at risk, or if we are required to. Where it is reasonable we will warn you first.
- When a league is removed, its credentials are deleted immediately and its remaining data is deleted as the Privacy Policy describes.
Warranties and liability
To the fullest extent the law allows: Otto is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of its answers. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost winnings, or lost league standings, arising from your use of Otto. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Otto in the twelve months before the claim, or thirty US dollars, whichever is greater. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply as far as they are permitted.
You agree to cover us for claims brought by others that arise from your breaking these terms, including connecting a league or supplying credentials you were not entitled to.
Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If something goes wrong, email us first; most problems are fixed in a conversation. Any dispute that cannot be resolved that way will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin, and you agree to their jurisdiction.
Contact
For any questions or concerns about these terms, please contact us. If these terms change in a way that matters, we email account holders before the change takes effect and update the date at the top.
